Coffee & Content - Hollywood Cinematographer Analyzes Music Videos & YouTube Tips for Actors

Posted by Richard "RB" Botto

Happy Sunday Creative Army!

Here's hoping you had a happy, healthy, and creative week. With everything going on right now, it is important to focus on things you can control - like soaking up new information and learning a new facet of the entertainment industry. So, are you ready for your weekly dose of content? I've got my coffee in hand and some piping hot content coming your way.

First up, the folks over at Indy Mogul sat down with cinematographer/director Justin Jones to talk about the top five music video mistakes filmmakers make. Music videos have changed a lot over the years, and filmmakers are getting more and more creative when it comes to marrying the mediums of music and film. This video dives into what to avoid along the way, as well as tips and tricks of the trade. See music video examples from The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Tyga, and more.

Next up, this one is for you, actors. Backstage recently hosted a live stream with social media expert for actors, Heidi Dean, focusing on YouTube for actors. With all of us staying at home, there is no better time to finally start that YouTube channel you have been talking about. In this video, Heidi gives you some practical tips on making your channel work for you and your acting career.
