Happy Sunday Creative Army!

I hope this message finds you healthy and safe. Whether you are in mandated or self-imposed quarantine, there is no better time to connect, learn, and grow with your fellow 600,000 Stage 32 members from across the globe. I hope you were able to wrangle up some coffee because your weekly dose of content is coming in hot.

First up, let's break down how to edit comedy, shall we? There is no better case study for comedic films than the king of comedy himself, Mel Brooks. Jack's Movie Reviews has put together a great video breaking down how Mel Brooks uses devices such as long takes and reaction shots when he shoots and edits his films.

Next up, our friends over at Studio Binder have put together a great video about how you can direct power in a scene by using blocking and staging. In this particular video, they use the legendary film The Godfather to illustrate how director Francis Ford Coppola used distinctly choreographed camera and actor movements to reveal Michael Corleone's rise to power.

Here at Stage 32, we love to share stories and knowledge with our fellow film fans. Know someone who would love this content? Share it with them! Tag them below! You can keep up with all of our content by subscribing to the Stage 32 YouTube. For all of the latest updates on our SXSW initiative follow me on Twitter @rbwalksintoabar

Finally, don't forget to register for my FREE webinar "Ask Me Anything: Quarantine Edition" on Wednesday, March 25th at 1 pm PST.

Wishing you a very happy, healthy, and creative Sunday.

Cheers,

RB
