Happy Sunday Creative Army,
Here's hoping you had a healthy and creative week. I've got my coffee in hand and am bringing you some piping-hot content to help you stay creative and inspired while rocking self-quarantine.
First up, the folks over at Nerdwriter have put together an amazing video highlighting one of the many reasons Bong Joon Ho's Oscar-winning film Parasite is so cinematically stellar. In this video, they breakdown the masterful use of montage in scene where (spoiler alert) the Kim family takes their plan to the next level by poisoning the Park families long time housekeeper with peach fuzz. This video even highlights a nod to another famous and prolific film director that you may not have noticed in your first viewing of Parasite.
Next up, Vanity Fair sits down with director Rian Johnson to break down one of the first scenes of Knives Out when you see the entire cast together. With that many actors in one scene, Rian talks about how he systematically blocked the actors and planned the camera movement to tell the story. Plus, learn an interesting little factoid about when iPhone's appear in movies that will forever shape how you watch movies.
