The Stage 32 community and platform just got a whole lot stronger…

I’m thrilled to announce that Sadie Dean has joined the Stage 32 family. Sadie comes to us by way of The Writers Store and F&W Media where she headed up a variety of initiatives for screenwriters including online and live education, seminars, contests, coverage services and much more. As a screenwriter myself, I can tell you first hand that Sadie is one of the most plugged in and knowledgable people working in the screenwriting space (not a surprise given her Masters in Screenwriting from AFI!) She is going to be a huge asset to writers within the Stage 32 community and to those working directly with the Stage 32 Happy Writers.

But Sadie is not here simply to help our writers. As an accomplished filmmaker and producer, Sadie has first hand experience working with actors, crew and financiers. In short, she’s here to help ALL Stage 32 creatives achieve the highest levels of success.

Sadie is not only a long time friend, but has my utmost admiration and respect as a businesswoman and a creative. You’re gonna love her, I assure you!

RB

Sadie Dean is an up and coming working filmmaker from Los Angeles, CA. She has had her hands in a myriad of creative endeavors; starting out as a musician, she was on the course to become a professionally trained musician, to making waves with her indie-shoegaze grunge rock band that she played bass in, but kindly rejected the two offers to focus on her filmmaking career that was on the horizon.

In 2011 she received her Masters in Screenwriting from the prestigious American Film Institute, where she was mentored by some of the worlds brightest and greatest storytellers of all time. With the likes of Frank Pierson, Gill Dennis, DC Fontana, Marta Kauffman & Tom Rickman. She has written on spec for producers, writing short-form comedy material for talent managers and their clients, was hired to write a screenplay with her writing partner, and has placed in numerous writing contests.

A Word From Sadie

Sadie has worked every job imaginable in pre-production, production and post-production. She has reigned her focus in professionally writing, producing and directing. Projects vary from PA’ing on VH1’s Confessions of a Teen Idol and CMT’s Billy Ray Cyrus: Home At Last, to script supervising on commercials, shorts, and features, to producing music videos for artists from the Wu-Tang Clan to indie local artists like Sayed Sabrina, and Executive Producing an independent feature documentary featuring Jerry Seinfeld, Terry Crews, and Aisha Tyler (to name a few).

Prior to joining the Stage 32 team, Sadie served as Project Coordinator for four years at The Writers Store where she oversaw screenwriting and television writing contests, live events, coverage services and the Screenwriters World Conference, and producing and directing how-to video online content for the screenwriting community provided by F+W Media (a la The Writers Store).

Sadie is overjoyed and honored to become part of the Stage 32 family. “I firmly believe that this kind of network is essential for all filmmakers, no matter where you are in your career. Stage 32 is not only a place to come to for top of the crop education, contests and networking, but it’s also a place to call home when you need advice, inspiration or a good laugh with a fellow creative from around the world. RB and his team are in the trenches just like the rest of us, so that’s an added bonus for all of us – they get it.”
