Greetings from sunny Cannes! Welcome to the weekend, everyone. This will, again, be a quick intro. We’re still out here wall-to-wall with meetings and events. As a woman, I'm sometimes asked why I picked a male dominated business to be in. My response is always the same, “Besides nursing and teaching (with the exception of university, then the workplace mostly consists of males), most professions are already male dominated.” They stop and think about it and then say, “You’re right.” Any woman that wants to have a professional career of her own must always compete among the men. So I have had to learn to adjust mys…

If I ever told my mother that I was homeless when I stayed in Savannah, GA for film school, she would have killed me. I remember the day I graduated from Virginia State University and thinking to myself… 'What the hell am I going to do now that I graduated school?' I just received my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, but I knew that was not what I wanted to do. My heart wasn’t in it at all. I knew what I wanted to do, what I wanted to be, but I just d…
The February edition of On Stage With RB was our highest attended yet! Nearly 2200 viewed the webcast LIVE! Incredible! I was honored to have two incredible guests on the show - independent film producer, David Harris, and writer, actor, producer, David Paterson. Both provided an amazing amount of information and inspiration. The entire webcast can be viewed here, but for the purpose of today's blog, we've broken down my interview with David Harris into 6 segments (as well as t…
Greetings Earthlings! What a great reaction for the first article - thanks to everyone for reading and commenting! February has been a busy month for camera announcements. And I suspect March will be as well leading into major events like WPPI and NAB. Canon, Nikon, Sony, and even Pentax had major announcements. And interestingly, only one of them was mirrorless. I don’t know… seems like the entire planet is talking ‘mirrorless this&…
The casting agent said all I had to do was show up and the role of the prosecuting attorney in 'Lincoln Lawyer’ was mine. I remember that call very distinctly. It’s the call every actor waits for, as they drag themselves from audition to audition. The difference was that a week before I had decided I was not going to act any more. Shocked? You should have heard the riot act the casting agent read me. After she calmed down, she explained that the first actor they had selected…
Currently in this day and time, with modern computer technology, there are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to purchasing and using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Using a DAW, also means the use of dedicated music software, in conjunction with a personal computer and a separate pro audio interface. Some people still prefer to center their music production around a hardware based DAW, which is an all in one box for sampling, sequencing and looping. Often hardware DAWs ar…
