About Setra

Born to a mother stricken with wanderlust after the death of my father when I was just a wee babe, I was bundled up and dragged around the world. Consequently, I was exposed to many different experiences, as well as different types of music. That's why, when given the task of creating a film soundtrack that combined the music of Shanghai with urban hip hop and the score for a documentary about a South African tennis player, I had a plethora of music in my head to choose from.

I have a super sensitive sense of hearing. So of course I also had to try my hand at foley/sound design, which I discovered I have a talent for and love of. You need footsteps that actually match what the person's feet are doing? I'm your gal! Few things annoy me more than when what I hear doesn't match what I see onscreen. I have a huge sound library and, if I don't have the exact sounds needed for the project, I have the tools and the wherewithal to create them.

Need an actual song or a jingle? I can do that, too. Lyrics, music, vocals, I'm a one-stop shop. And, as if all that wasn't enough, I work super fast, without skimping on quality.

I always loved reading aloud as a child. In school, when the teacher asked "who wants to read," my hand was always the first one up. One of the joys of motherhood for me was being able to read my favorite childhood books aloud. It was an easy segue to doing voiceovers for children books and then on to narrating.

I'm super blessed to love what I do and do what I love, and I believe that any job worth doing is worth doing well!
