Great share, Ashley Renee Smith. I think some things that go into crafting a compelling performance are the actor knowing the character's backstory, the character's mental state at that moment in the movie, their goal in the scene, and the stakes.
Sean Baker said, "With movies, sometimes you don't have any music playing and the actors have to scream as if there is music." That's interesting. I thought all party scenes had music playing. Acting like there's music playing sounds kinda hard.
