Hi there,

I came across this news-bite from Moby himself, about free music for filmmakers. Along with 500 new songs there are also multi-tracks, which can be mixed/remixed for your projects.

I hope you find this helpful. Let me know what you think.

its interesting. I always feel like a thief and not well with my ethic to do something like that, even if it's for fun. Its not like I don't use songs, but I just feel like its harder to feel that I really now what I mean by this song and that is really my song.

you know what I mean? its just the perspective of being a composer, but also kind of a dj or a mikser which I am not sure its a good thing to do for me now, when I am learning. I think it something great of expressing yourself, when you just wanna have fun and not feel that Is fully your or you just cut only short sample and maybe reverse them or add some effects. happy to hear what do you think about that

Julia Kolasińska Hi Julia, thanks for your comment. I can see what you mean, I think, for as a Director I would need a personal connection with the composer when finding/creating music for a film.

On the other hand, there must be lots of filmmakers out there, who need this free service as they work with little or no budget. Added to this, Moby is graciously providing this service and I think this comes out of his understanding of the music and film industries.

yeah, I think here is a point: If you wanna be realistic or just artistic or know where your balance point is. Depends on general situation in life, projects and aspiration you have different ideas, so different decisions. I get that, but also I am saying from the point that I just yesterday released my album with music that is deeply from the heart and soul.
