My condolences to David's family and friends, Geoff Hall. My favorite David Lynch film is DUNE. I haven't seen a lot of his other work, but I've been meaning to.

Geoff Hall

Maurice Vaughan indeed, Maurice, our condolences to his family. My favourite film would be Mulholland Drive, and shame on me, I still haven’t seen Twin Peaks!

Maurice Vaughan

I'm sure I saw Twin Peaks growing up, but I don't remember what it's about, Geoff Hall. It's going to be like watching it for the first time when I watch it again. I looked at David's IMDb page and saw two Mulholland Drive movies. One is Mulholland Dr.

Sean Plemmons

'Blue Velvet', probably his greatest movie and easily a four star classic.

Banafsheh Esmailzadeh

Oh no! May he rest in peace and condolences to his family and friends :( I haven't watched much of his stuff, just the first two episodes of Twin Peaks but I know he was a major influence on my own personal major influence so this is sad to hear :(

Sam Sokolow

What a loss to cinema and the world. I'm with Sean Plemmons that BLUE VELVET is my favorite Lynch film. But man... WILD AT HEART, ERASERHEAD, ELEPHANT MAN... all amazing... and I'm a fan of his DUNE. RIP to a master.

Tony Ray

I don't think I've seen a single one of his films, but I've seen clips of them. The clip that stands out is the diner scene from "Mulholland Drive". I don't scare easily, but that scared the absolute S-H-*-T out of me.

What I'll always remember about him was how weird and out there he seemed.

Geoff Hall

Tony Ray I loved listening to him talk about filmmaking and storytelling. He has the voice and the delivery, that makes you think I could listen to him forever.

Pat Alexander

Rest in Peace. On my Mt. Rushmore of directors for sure

Sleep soundly, Mr, Lynch.

We lost a legend, such a remarkable director.

All I can say is thank you, Mr. Lynch for all the stories you wanted to share with all of us.

Your legacy will forever be remembered.

Rest in peace, and thank you!

Gillian Yong

David Lynch’s dreamlike worlds that made us see reality in a completely new way.. His passing leaves a void, but his influence will continue to inspire us to embrace the weird and wonderful aspects of life and art. Rest in peace.

Geoff Hall

Gillian Yong I wonder if we are losing the artist’s view of filmmaking, Gillian? Artful films seem to be viewed as high-risk and don’t draw the investors, but then perhaps we have to make them with a lesser budget in mind and not write expansive stories expecting them to be high-budget extravaganzas?

I loved what he said in the clip from the Patti Smith interview: “Do what you believe in and do it to the best of your ability.”

Richard "RB" Botto

Infinitely talented and a maverick. Also left behind a fountain of memorable quotes - "Keep your eye on the donut, not the hole."
