California Working to Increase Film Tax Credits Cap to $750m

To compete with other states and overseas runaway production, Gavin Newsom announced California is working to increase the film tax credit cap to $750m.

This will help CA compete with New York, Georgia, UK, and other regions who have likewise upped their film tax incentives to lure production of film and television production.

California filmmakers look forward to finalization of this legislation.

I believe there will be a bit of a resurgence in CA film. I'm currently working with San Diego County and the City of Chula Vista to create regional incentives as well for both small and large productions. It's exciting to see new growth in areas that make sense.

With production spreading rapidly around the globe and emerging markets building up fast Califiornia has to do something to compete. Things feel so exciting most everywhere else.
