#ScamWarning #Stage32Safety #CreativeCommunity #Brentango
Friends, I want to share a warning that could help someone avoid being taken advantage of.
Today, I received a connection request from a “member” with no photo and a long list of random skills — 15 in total. I always thank anyone who connects, but this one immediately revealed itself as a scam.
Here’s what followed:
“Sorry for late response I'm reaching out on behalf of a Casting Director in Apple TV. We are seeking ideas of a creative story for an upcoming scripted series, if you have one to share with then we're willing to pay the sum of $150,000, please your response is needed urgently so we can proceed with payment immediately, send us your WhatsApp number so we can proceed immediately.”
There are several red flags here:
Urgency – Scammers want you to act fast so you don’t think.
Unrealistic money offers – No one pays $150,000 upfront for an idea from someone they’ve just met online.
Off-platform contact requests – Legit professionals don’t immediately ask for your WhatsApp or personal info.
Vague affiliations – “Apple TV” or “Netflix” are often used to sound legitimate, but without any verifiable names or company emails.
If you get a message like this, do not respond and report the account immediately.
Stage 32 is a wonderful community of genuine creators, but like every platform, it attracts bad actors who try to exploit trust. Let’s look out for one another and keep this space safe for real collaboration.
Stay sharp. Stay creative. Stay kind.

Thanks for warning the community, Wyman Brent. If anyone sees a fake account, scam account, or suspicious account on Stage 32, email support@stage32.com with the person’s name and their Stage 32 profile link. And if someone sends you a scam message (like a producer asking for a producer's fee to make your script), send a screenshot of their message to Support with their name and profile link. Thanks.

Maurice Vaughan, you are very welcome. Yes, I also reported it by email. Just that I want to warn the good people on Stage 32. Maybe the scams are not so obvious to everyone. I know all about wishful thinking. :)

I also received a message that seemed too perfect to be true.
I contacted the support team, and they deleted the account after discovering that the person was using the name of a well-known producer.
It’s never easy to develop ideas, so creators must always stay alert and aware of such situations.
