Deadline just released a preview of this weekend’s box office performance, spotlighting Ballerina and Lilo & Stitch as two major titles hitting theaters:

While both projects come from very different lanes, an action-thriller spin-off and a beloved Disney remake, they represent two critical truths in film financing:
1. Star Power and IP Still Matter: Studios are doubling down on recognizable franchises and bankable leads. If you’re looking to attract investors, it helps to package your project with clear market appeal, whether that’s a strong concept, recognizable talent, or alignment with current audience trends.
2. Timing and Counterprogramming Can Be Strategic: These two films are targeting different demographics, which lowers their risk of cannibalizing each other at the box office. A great lesson for indie filmmakers trying to find the right release window or festival circuit.
Are you currently seeking financing or developing your investor pitch? What strategies are you using to demonstrate market potential and ROI?

I develop fully realized shows and films in a couple of days. I write songs in less than five minutes. I have everything set up with transmedia and a deep ecoystem laid out. Having said that, how do I get the right eyes to look at my work?
