I have two stories of failure, one mine and one of another writer. 1. I researched film funding for my 15M feature and had a verbal green light from an IPO ( Initial Public Offering) of a new firm in LA specializing in offering something similar to film stocks for individuals to buy shares and fund movies. Before the contract could be signed 911 happened and they backed out due to the shaky economy. They tanked. That same script is still in development now as both a feature and a series. I am not bitter because many Americans lost a whole lot more than one day in the sun. 2. My very best friend in all the world said to tell you not to fret if you become the victim if Intellectual Property theft. Do not faint. Do not have a conniption fit. Do not cry for weeks on end. Do not fight it. Simply keep on trying because "what the devil steals from you he has to pay you back seven times." Proverbs 6:31 paraphrased. Only a devil or demon-possessed person would do that and there is redemption for you. It also is a confirmation you are a good writer. Hopefully, lightning will not strike twice and you will not step on another rattlesnake. They will not prosper. The thief would be the moral failure, not you. My writer buddy is the best writer in the world in my opinion. He is doing just fine now.

Oh, man! Yeah, having your financial backing fall through sucks. And I'm glad to hear you've learned from your friend's failure as well! I can definitely say, after knowing you a little while, that your setbacks have not defined your journey - they've only made you stronger! Keep going, my friend! YOU ROCK! not-so-long-distance high-five
