Introduce Yourself : Actors and Actresses to work on scenes by Gia Carol

Actors and Actresses to work on scenes

Hello, friends! How are you? I introduced myself a couple of weeks ago. I'm an actress based in Los Angeles, and I was wondering if any of you is interested in creating a small group to work on scenes. From plays, movies, TV shows... Something simple like a gathering in a park (open space, safe for everybody) during daylight (for everyone's safety as well...:) I've spent many years in this city, but I still find it difficult to connect with fellow artists... So, the idea would be not only train on the scenes we want to work on, but also meet new people. What do you think? Do you think it would be super weird to gather in a park, let's say each one takes his or her own coffee or tea and we work on the scenes we want to play? I've been thinking about this for a long time but I wasn't sure what you would think. If it's too weird, or too crazy, let me know. Hahaha.... Thanks! Oh, by the way, you can find me on Instagram as Gia Carol. It might be faster to connect over there as well... I'll be waiting for your comments! Thanks!

Hi Gia

That’s a great suggestion although I’m based in the U.K. currently I was in LA earlier in the year & didn’t really get the chance to connect with anyone ( it’s such a big place ) so would have loved an opportunity like you suggest. I plan to return later this year so I will look you up on Instagram. I am a writer mainly but do all aspects of film work, never turn down a gig.

Cheers all the best

Mark

Gia Carol

Thank you, Mark! That's true. That's why I started this thread... To see if there's anyone interested in connecting in real life... Many blessings to you!

Gen Vardo

I've been wanting to get a table read team together if you are at all interested?

We could all really help each other out in that way. I'd love to be living in LA, it is my goal to move as soon as I can. For now a web cam group?

Nailotl Méndez

hello, it's a great idea, I'm in Mexico but the regret in the possibility that you envision is good, for now digitally @nailotl on instagram

John Ellis

Nice videos!

Gia Carol

Thanks John for your nice comment on my videos and Gen and Nailotl that's a good idea too. But in this case, I really want to connect in person with other actors. But that's a cool idea as well. You might start your own thread and I'm sure there are many artists who would participate. It might be easier to do it online than what I'm trying to achieve. But from the bottom of my heart, I think it would be so nice to gather in person just to hone our skills and meet new people. Without a competition to see who gets the role, or the pressure to be best of the class or whatever one might have on mind in this competitive city... Just a place to work in a relaxed environment. That's what I envision.... Thanks so much!!!!

John Ellis

Gia Carol have you tried connecting with agents, manager, casting directors? Casting directors in particular often have table reads and other in-person activities for actors they work with.

Gia Carol

Hi John Ellis ! Yes, I've tried it all... And there's always a sense of competition when you go to Casting Directors Workshops.... Or maybe I didn't attend to the right ones. If you have any advice on good table reads, I would appreciate it!!! That's why I'd like connect in a more organic way with fellow artists, without the pressure of being outstanding so this CD or the other, have them into account for a project... You know? Just a place to help each other and grow as a performer... But with the freedom of a friendly gathering....

Francisco Trejo

Would you like to connect through email? Or a zoom call ?

Rama Rengan

Is this just for actors, because I'm an editor and I would love to connect with people

Gia Carol

Hi Francisco Trejo! Thanks for your interest!!! I envision it to be on person.... But I haven't heard from any actor in Los Angeles interested in this... It might not be a good idea....??? I don't know...

Gia Carol

@Rama Rengan I'm going to add you to my contacts. Thanks so much!

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Gia. Great to meet you. Hope you find success on Stage 32.

Jay Johnson

There's a character in my screenplay you'd be a fit for. If it ever gets made... :-)
