Hi everyone! Sara Phoenix here. Finally going after my writing dreams and started working seriously on my screenwriting. I'm currently revising a limited series pilot of my own creation and outlining a few features. I do all this while teaching creative writing/screenwriting to high school students all day. I've been a high school teacher for 20+ years and if you want to know how that translates to being a great addition to your writers' room, or eventually showrunning, I would be happy to tell you!
I'm in Atlanta and I travel quite a bit. Glad to be here and hope to meet lots of my fellow creatives on here!

Welcome to the community, Sara Phoenix. I didn't know creative writing/screenwriting was taught in high school. That's cool. I started screenwriting in 12th grade, but it wasn't part of a class. What genre is your limited series?

Yes here in GA we have a core curriculum class called Dramatic Writing. It's only a few years old. I love it :)

My pilot is southern gothic supernatural drama!
That's great, Sara Phoenix. Do your students have to write a scene or script as part of the final exam?
Southern Gothic Supernatural Drama sounds exciting. Christopher Neal Fisher is working on a Southern Gothic series (www.stage32.com/profile/681105/about). He calls it a Southern Gothic Soap Opera/Southern Gothic Prime Time Soap.
You're a medieval reenactor. I've never done it, but it looks fun.
