You could post your scripts on your profile. Producers search profiles on here for projects. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your scripts on your profile this way: www.stage32.com/loglines (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”)

So as for finding the right person to pitch it to, I'm still working on that as well. That one involves luck.

However, if I pitch my project 7 times, I usually get 4 or 5 requests, and I will give you the information as to why mine stands out. Unfortunately, I came into the industry at COVID...then there was a strike...then a bunch of fires...and Trump and 500 other things...it's been damn near impossible to have somebody take a chance on me as LA is engulfed in flames but I'm still hopeful! Also, this means the pitch is working, at least, so here's my advice.

First of all, your appearance and your tone of voice is everything. Look professional and look into public speaking courses, which I am a professional public speaker giving this advice. They're simple, easy, and it'll make you realize how beneficial it is to be able to sound professional in a sea full of people who have never taken a professionalism class. Of course, some people will tell you not to dress up, but there's no rule on that; it is simply their own insecurity telling you not to look nice because they don't normally do it, themselves. A woman on here from STARZ said to me: "These other people on here don't have what you have, unfortunately, and that's what they're missing," but my point to you is none of this cost me money. It cost me time and effort to learn it, using the internet. You can do it, too.

In short: you need to practice speaking this pitch, obsessively, and you need to practice THE WAY it sounds as you deliver. Use a stopwatch (your phone has one) as well and time it. Five minutes. DO NOT STOP REHEARSING UNTIL YOU GET CLOSE TO FIVE EXACTLY!

You need to speak with a tone of voice and a demeanor that screams "THIS IS GOING TO WORK AND I AM CONFIDENT IN IT." Even if there's a part of your pitch you barely believe in, it better still sound confident. This is called a salesman smile.

My biggest advice is to have it memorized. Here comes the part where people in this industry say not to do that lol sorry to say but they're wrong about it. They're not public speakers, so they don't know. It HAS to be memorized so much, so often that you're able to pitch it almost half asleep. "But what about somebody asking you a question in the middle and now you're stuck?" Memorize it so well that if somebody stops you or goes off topic, you can pick up right where you left off like nothing happened. Now, you get your point across and still answer their question.

Lastly, just some easy advice but it's just as important: keep it in this order (for TV)--

Why me, tone, Main characters, Pilot, Season One, why now. Why me and tone should be short like 30 seconds combined and the rest is one minute each. For features, it's the same just no pilot and season one. You'd be talking about your feature and then a potential sequel.

Just be confident and believe in it. You don't need to be a public speaker to get a request, but this advice will help you tremendously. Trust me.

Don't worry about the demand... if it sticks, it sticks. You keep going and when that producer sees your work as his/her needle in the haystack that they're looking for, they (and you) will sure know. Best of luck.

I've collaborated with other members on projects and jobs on Stage 32. I mainly got these opportunities by networking in the Lounges, making posts and commenting on their posts.

You're welcome, Michael Bennett. I just looked at the avaliable job positions for a Job Board post. I think "advisor" is the best fit, and you could mention that you're looking for an independent person to sit on your Board of Directors in the Description section of the job post.

If you make a post that focuses on you asking for ideas and recommendations from others in the community, that's fine in the Producing Lounge. Something like:

"Hello Everyone. I'm launching my own independent production company and am looking for an independent person to sit on my Board of Directors. Whoever I select, first and foremost must be compatible with my vision. Do you have any ideas where I can find a person to fill this position or recommendations?"

That's a great suggestion Maurice. I will use both strategies --- both the Job Board and the Producing Lounge...

Do I scroll all the way down and click Advisor from the drop down menu under Available Positions then post the position description right above it in the Description box, or the one below it that says Notes and Requirements? You could put any extra notes and requirements in the Notes and Requirements box. And just fill out the boxes like Job Title and Job Deadline.

He likes the concept, but it needs proper formatting and improvement in the dialogue. I sent a request for a screenwriting editor. The form is very limited. I hope that someone responds. Do you know how much they charge for editing a screenplay with 247 pages?
