Hi everyone and a happy Sunday to you.

As I was reading the trades today I saw something that is very telling to me.Top YouTube content creators will host their own upfronts at the end of the month. Traditionally, only the top channels and studios (and in most recent year streamers) produce lavish ev...

What’s the First Thing You Do When Taking on a New Project as a Producer?

Producing a film or series comes with a long to-do list and every producer has their own approach. Some of us start with building a pitch deck and locking in IP. Others immediately think about budget, casting, or location logistics.

So let’s open up the floor…

When you first commit to a new project, w...

Sam is spot on. Read the script! Read it once for the pleasure of reading it. It's the only time you'll experience that. After that it's time to look at turning pages into images that will end with releasing it.

Ensure the script is Amazing or can get there (or don't get involved.) Then budget, cast (to support the script and budget), finance (based upon script, budget and cast), distribution, production.

We're greenlit! Never give up.

Excited to announce that a film that we've been working on for 5 years - yes, 5, long, painstaking years, is finally greenlit. It's a horror film written by a beloved writer from the Stage 32 community with a story that we've been really passionate about making. We had the financing and it fell out...

Tip for the Day #16: How Serious Are You To Get Film Financing?

For some actively searching, this may seem a silly question. But for many others it’s a valid question. Many out there are assuming if they publicly pitch their “awesome” project, investors will flock to them with tons of offers. However, living in Neverland won’t get you funded.

Do you have a solid...

I worked as a legal secretary in entertainment law firms, and as an executive assistant in Business and Legal Affairs at studios for more than 20 years. I've always enjoyed drafting contracts.
