I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of turning movies and shows into playable video game experiences, and some games deserve the full cinematic treatment too.
Here are a few movies I’d love to see as video games:
Project Power – A chaotic, fast-paced shooter with temporary superpowers.
Black Adam – A god-tier action brawler set in a conflicted world of heroes and politics.
Edge of Tomorrow – A roguelike time-loop war simulator. Die. Learn. Repeat.
Ready Player One – A massive VR MMO sandbox where every world is a pop culture mashup.
And here’s a game I think would make an incredible movie or series:
Kingdom Hearts – A fantasy/sci-fi epic with emotional depth, crossover magic, and a battle between light and darkness. Perfect for a movie trilogy or anime-style series.
What about you?
What movie or show would you love to play as a game?
What video game do you think deserves to hit the big screen?

I'd play those games and watch a Kingdom Hearts movie/series, Dwayne Williams 2. I'd like to see a GTA version of a X-Files game, and I'd like to see a Dino Crisis movie.

Hi Dwayne Williams
Love this topic — thanks for starting such a great conversation. The potential of adapting cinematic stories into games (or vice versa) is something I think about constantly, especially as someone developing a cross-platform IP.
Let me share one of the projects I'm currently working on:
It’s a dark fantasy story called “Prince of Darkness”, and it’s being developed both as a scripted series and a playable narrative game.

Maurice Vaughan That's a wild mix! I like that blend — GTA with an X-Files vibe could open up some intriguing investigations and moral chaos. That concept has serious legs. And Dino Crisis? I can definitely see that on the big screen. Were you thinking something closer to a grounded, R-rated Jurassic-style thriller or more of a stylized sci-fi edge?

Hey Rohullah Mowahed, appreciate you dropping in with such a thoughtful share. Prince of Darkness sounds like a deep world with a lot of storytelling muscle behind it, especially working across both formats.
Just curious, are there any existing movies or games you’d personally love to see flipped the other way? Like a film turned into a game, or a game adapted for screen? It would be cool to hear your picks.

The characters in the X-Files game could go to different cities, countries, and planets, Dwayne Williams 2. I'm thinking a grounded, R-rated Jurassic-style Thriller Dino Crisis for the first movie.

I’ve been getting the same issue lately — constant disconnects even after reinstalling and clearing cache. While waiting for a fix, I’ve been killing time with online casino games. One platform I found decent is https://1win-uz-online.com/ — simple interface, good bonuses, and works fine on mobile. It’s been a nice distraction while the game servers are acting up.

I would love to see Memento in video game

Maurice Vaughan Absolutely feel that. The Jurassic genre still has tons of untapped potential, especially when it comes to exploring different time frames and perspectives.

Julien Ober I can see Memento as a high-stakes action or stealth-based game. Great pick, strong narrative mechanics in that one.

Mark my words, and I know they're rebooting the franchise... but I would LOVE and NEED to write that script for Resident Evil 4. That story scared me as a kid, and I loved every minute of playing it. And to adapt that game into a movie... I would love to write a script for Zach Cregger if he's to helm the 4th installment.

Love this question and your picks, Dwayne Williams 2! My suggestion would be a Kingsman video game. You could navigate an espionage plot to save the world, collect different weapons, suits, and gadgets to customize and evolve your character, and pick up spy skills as you infiltrate high-stakes environments.
I could also see something like Children of Men turned into an immersive, narrative-driven RPG with survival elements, there’s so much emotional weight and tension in that world, it would translate powerfully into gameplay.

Ashley Renee Smith Brilliant suggestions! I just rewatched Kingsman, and you’re right, it would make such a fun and stylish game. I’d love to design the mechanics for something like that, especially with all the weapons, suits, and spy gadgets to upgrade and customize.
Children of Men is also a fascinating pick, such a unique concept. Translating that world into an immersive, survival-driven RPG would expand the world in compelling ways.
