I hit page 36 on my screenplay "Dream a Little Dream". Even though it happens often, it always surprises me when my characters take over and start bringing in subplots I hadn't planned on. What still surprises you about your writing?
I like when I am so into it that I'll get up a 3AM, 2AM whatever, just to keep writing it. It's always flowing effortlessly and I'm having a ton of fun writing it when that is going on. If that doesn't happen, I don't finish it and dump the script.
I love it when I walk away from a scene or breakdown, for a day, a week, a month, and my brain starts working on it in the background and suddenly, one day, my brains starts playing scenes in my head of variations to the answer. Like you say, the characters just kind of take over and I'm just waiting to hear what they say!

Ha Ha Ha Exactly! It's also great to be able to not worry about what happens tomorrow.

I wish I had the stamina to get up and write in the middle of the night (when my brain whirs into action) But my body refuses to comply.
