Hey folks,
Check out the article from Deadline below - here is the important pull quote ,"Kosse says the viewing of non-English language content “has tripled over the last three years.” Part of that is attributable to more content being made and an increase in dubbing and subtitling, while overall, “We are finding that the appetite continues to grow.”
This is exactly why Netflix approached Stage 32 for an educational partnership. They know that there are great stories to be told and they want to be the ones to have local language productions and regional productions going all the time.
Simply put - now more than ever you no longer need to be in LA - or even the US - in order to be successful or in business with a streamer like Netflix. Great news for creators everywhere!

Thanks for sharing...great info. Exciting times!
Thanks Jason. I'm French in LA. Does it mean I can finally go back to my country now? :)
Dunno...not only that the language is the barrier...not like French and German are making "Die Hard" kinda concept but only in native...can't speak for Africa and Asia, but Europe cinema has a whole different view into making movies than US...more vague, artistic and generally "don't know where I'm heading"...that reflects TV shows too...now Netflix may buy shows in native trying to gain worldwide public, that's ok, that's plain money run, but trying to sell some Luxembourg drama to Californians...good luck!
