This story has been percolating in my brain for some time. My parents owned the Cafe Au Go Go in Greenwich Village from 1963 to 1969. Started the careers of Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Jimi Hendrix
to name a few. It is their life story and their incredible journey through the turbulent 1960's as they came toe to toe with insurmountable legal, social obstacles and familial challenges. The jump off in the film was the historic arrest in 1964 of Lenny Bruce and both my parents. Rather than pay the normal New York City fine for obscenity, my parents opted to take their battle to the courts and the court of public opinion in era where there was no such things as cell phones, computers, twitter and tic tok. They took on the status quo and challenged and fought back against the arcane laws on the books for Freedom of Speech in post war McCarthy America. A real David and Goliath tale. Anyway, getting ready to get it out to lit agents, studios, financiers and would appreciate any words of wisdom from the Stage 32 community. I am open to all suggestions. It's only been 61 years in the making.

Great to meet you, Jason Solomon. This sounds like it'd be an incredible film! I haven't pitched to lit agents, studios, and financiers, but in my experience pitching to producers, a pitch deck helps.
And Stage 32 had a live Community Open House the other week. You can watch the recording here (www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-community-open-house-webcast). It'll help you connect with other industry professionals. This blog will too: www.stage32.com/blog/the-importance-of-community-and-collaboration-in-th...

It's been a labor of love putting the story together and finally telling the magical tale of parents legacy. if you want to check out the some of the iconic 60's footage from the club go to You tube and type in "Cafe Au Go Go". The piece is 15 minutes long but will blow your mind if you watch the whole thing. It's a capsule version of the film.
