Hi Stage 32 community! For those who may not know me yet, I’m Shadaè Lezama a writer, producer, and founder of Astraea Studios based in Atlanta. I’m passionate about stories rooted in legacy, cultural resistance, and identity, and I work across various genres including Southern Western, thriller, and fantasy.
Right now, I’m actively packaging two feature films a Southern Western called Blood & Ashes and a supernatural thriller titled Now You Remember. I’m also deep into writing my third feature, an original fantasy action thriller.
I’m here to connect with fellow creatives who are passionate about telling bold, inclusive stories and who bring vision and heart to their work whether you’re a producer, director, actor, or writer. I’m especially interested in collaborators who want to build projects with cultural depth and emotional stakes. Looking forward to meeting and learning from everyone!

Hi, Shadaè Lezama. What's the story behind your company's name?

I love mythology especially Greek mythology and when deciding on a name I went through all the Greek goddesses and felt drawn to Astraea since she is the virgin goddess of justice, and purity. It felt right due to a lot of what I’ve been working on for my company with focusing on a lot of underrepresented stories. Maurice Vaughan

That name fits great, Shadaè Lezama. Glad you're focusing on a lot of underrepresented stories! There are so many out there.

Shadaè Lezama Makes sense! I used that name for one of my main characters in a book I wrote, and hadn't met anyone else who knew the name, so love it! :)
