Acting : Just wondering? by Darrell Kobaso

Does one have to have a Bachelor's degree in Theater to get work as an extra? Or be a member of SAG? It seems like you have to go through a lot of madness just to find work as an extra in a low budget film these days. I didn't Know you had to have all that just for extra work.
