Acting : Acting/Demo reels! etc by Elisha Escalante

Hey guys! Some of you may already know that I have my own little business in editing. It's nothing fancy, just little old me trying to reduce the costs of acting reels/demo reels and anything else that has to do with editing. As a person who knows what its like to struggle in this world with money and having a dream. I want to help others like me out. I am not a trained editor, I taught myself. People are quite shocked when I say that xD I mostly make "fanvideos" on youtube for tv shows and I have had a number of producers, directors, actors and even publicists comment on my work...great comments. I have been lucky with getting feedback from high rated people in the industry. Also a video that I made for a show "NCIS" was played on a news show in the US called "Entertainment Tonight"! They filmed a whole segment just on my video, going to the show's set, showing it to the cast and filming their reactions to it. But unfortunately, because WB was not happy with CBS playing one of their songs on their show, they got into trouble with copyright and could not show the segment. Boo :( So yeah, don't let the untrained part put you off. I am a hard worker who had the passion for editing enough to teach myself it. And I am not trying to blow my own trumpet here, I just don't want to sound like some awful editor who is talking a load of bull. Basically the point of this is to offer actors/directors/cinematographers etc here who have done enough work to fill up an acting/demo reel (or you could film monologues to show off your talent, actors.), a VERY cheep but great acting/demo reel! I have done my research about prices etc and I have been DISGUSTED in how much people charge for these things. I have seen utterly AWFUL show reels and editing skills yet these people are charging between £100-£200. And that isnt the big official companies! So you can imagine the silly prices they are charging for one show reel. It really does anger me that unless you are some established actor/director/screen writer/ what ever you do, you can not get a decent reel that you deserve to have! This is not me trying to get people to use me, this is me speaking as a person who knows EXACTLY what it is like to be struggling with money and trying to live my dream. I have just come out of University which caused me a lot of debt and I have no job to go to. I come from a "normal" family who have struggled for years, I am not one of those people who come from money and don't have to work for anything. I know what its like to struggle. For acting reels I offer to edit them for £25 but if you want a small montage of your work at the end of the reel it will be an extra £5 but not everyone wants one of them, it depends on yourself and what you want. If it is a demo reel for a director etc where it is pure montage then it is £30. Just to be clear because I have been asked this before, I do not come to you and record them :) I am just an editor. So I take everything you have and put it all together into something you take into castings/send to directors or post on youtube so you can send it in emails, put it on twitter, what ever your heart desires. I can ether take the rains completely and just get your work from you, edit it as I would do it and send you it. Or I am completely fine with people who have a direction they want to go with. Of course I expect people to tell me what scenes they want in it, I mean no one knows you more than yourself, so you pick which parts show you off. Thank you for reading this. I assure you that I am genuinely trying to offer myself at a low price because of the idiots who are charging people a stupid amount of money for a reel that is terrible or charging far to much money just for a 2-3 minute video.
