A popstar is conned and catfished and begins a relationship with the young man who was used to con her.

Genie Palermo is a young YouTuber and internet sensation on her way to becoming a pop star and uses the name Gigi, but her parents worry she is letting it go to her head, and she doesn’t take time to enjoy her culture. Then while online she meets a boy named Austin Banks who is also a singer and runs a charity and Gene convinces her parents to donate to his charity house and decides to meet him in his family’s recording studio. Genie takes a detour when she finds out Johnny is singing in a rec center, and surprises him, and kisses him, but Austin shakes her off and he reveals he does not know her, and his name is Nick Mason. Gene apologizes and reveals why she is there, and Nick recognizes the pictures and they are him at local areas where he sings as a hobby and tells Genie he knows the building where the studio is, and that it has been closed for years and was never a recording studio and the area never had a recording studio, not believing him Gene goes there with Nick and learns he was right. Genie, Nick and their families realize someone stole Nick’s identity to create “Austin Banks” and conned Genie, worried about how the situation could damage her image she convinces Nick to go along with the Austin Banks thing. Nick agrees and while working with Gene he learns about what Genie was like before the fame and spends time with her in-between the act and starts to fall for her, but the Gigi and Johnny act is causing problems for a potential relationship. Nick and Gene get into an argument about being Austin Banks and Gigi, and while Genie realizes her falling for Nick and begins to rethink her image, especially when Nick takes an interest in her cultural heritage and begins to embrace it again. Nick and Genie soon learn that Genie’s manager was behind the whole thing and was planning to use it to fire Genie and find a new rising internet sensation to exploit. Nick records it and ruins her, and Genie realizes she is in love with Nick and her identity and tells her followers who she really is and what her manager did to her and her newfound discovery of staying true to oneself and admits she will stay true to herself and her love for Nick. Nick and Genie reunite and become a couple and start a more real channel and encourage people to be themselves and advice on how to be better people on the inside.
