A fearless princess who must hide that she's a flying raptor leads a quest into the forbidden lands to save her kidnapped baby brother, her kingdom and prove her loyalty.
SYNOPSIS:
This Young Adult half-hour TV series is set in the mythical kingdom of Latavia, which has been at war for generations with its enemies, the North and South Romalanders, who are engaged in their own civil war. Similar to Game of Thrones, the story engine is driven by this conflict and has the complex adult themes of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
This concept of a flying princess changes from season to season. In the first season, she must keep that a secret, but in the second season, her father sends her on another quest, and she meets other raptors and magical creatures as she becomes lost in the Enchanted Forest. In the third season, she gains the wisdom and confidence to bring all the raptors back from Enchanted Forest, and they help her rule her kingdom and make peace with the Romalanders.
Piot Synopsis
The pilot is based on the first few chapters of my highly-rated young adult book Kira and Henry. It opens with an exciting scene of a flying human raptor grabbing a small child, and they both die as the villagers shoot it down. Later, this mutation that creates human raptors is forbidden, and they are exiled to the Enchanted Forest to live amongst other magical creatures. Most of the pilot revolves around our protagonist dealing with the disappointment that her new stepbrother blocks her path to rule and then the terrifying kidnapping of the young prince.
In each episode of the first season, she encounters external conflict and challenges; twin trolls, a monstrous mountain, and the poison snake bridge, but she also has internal conflict; she questions if she is ready to rule if she can’t protect her baby brother and if she should lead the quest into the Forbidden Lands to get him back. The lead character, KIRA (16,) was born into the royal family of Latavia, she blames herself for her mother’s death and turns all her energy into learning how to be a fierce warrior and prepare for battle against Romaland. Her squire HENRY (16,) is a Romalander, taken away as a toddler and grew up as a playmate for Princess Kira. He wants to be a knight, but his love for Kira gets in the way of his own ambitions. Her father, KING PHILLIP is the wise ruler of Latavia, struggling to raise a teen on his own, he provides asylum to the beautiful Queen Serina, who gives birth to a son, Prince Alec. There is a twist when a future episode, we find out that Prince Alec is the heir to Romandland - and not the heir to Latavia. That heir is Kira - but she's a raptor.

The time is right for a young adult fantasy that discusses the acceptance of being different, like a raptor and the importance of changing the laws that banish certain people based on their genetic differences. Future Episodes and Seasons:
2. Twin Trolls - As Kira, Henry and the knights begin the quest to save Prince Alec, Romalanders attack them from the north. Charles tells Kira and Henry to press on, and he cuts the bridge toward the Forbidden Lands. Kira and Henry spend the night alone in a cave, only to be woken by hungry Twin Trolls.
3. Feed the Mountain - Kira and Henry encounter the Monstrous Mountain, and each time they try to enter the tunnel, it caves in, leaving them trapped beneath a mound of dirt and rocks. The kidnappers find that trying to keep a toddler captive is harder than it looks. Henry is upset that Kira won’t use her raptor flying powers to fly around the mountain, but she finds another way to conquer it. Singing Frogs try to avoid being eaten.
4. Singing Frogs - Kira captures three singing frogs, gives them unusual names and threatens to eat them for breakfast. Back at the castle, the bridge is repaired and the knights leave to catch up to Kira and Henry. James and Mark wave goodbye to the queen as they wear her colors. After reaching the cave, Charles questions the Twin Trolls, and he begins to question Kira’s loyalty.
5. Poison Snake Bridge - Kira outsmarts the Poison Snake Bridge but at a great cost; it kills her horse. Henry questions why she never named her horse as he confesses his dedication to his horse, Augusta. Peter shows up at the kidnappers camp and makes a plan to capture Kira and Henry.
6. Ravine and Gus - After the kidnappers tie up Kira and Henry, the singing frogs come to their rescue. Henry convinces Kira to make a run for it and get more help with the kidnappers Bart and Dirk in pursuit. She takes Henry’s horse, Augusta and makes friends with the horse. She is able to fake her death in the ravine.
7. Treason - Now free of the idiots, Bart and Dirk, Kira soon meets up with Charles and the other knights and they accuse her of treason. Mark and James are tasked with taken a captured and bond Kira back to the castle while Charles and the rest continue on the quest to free Henry and Alec.
8. Heir to the Throne - Back at the kidnappers camp, Owen points out to Henry that he is a Romalander, probably taken as a slave by the Latavians after killing his parents. They also reveal that Prince Alec is a full Romalander too - and not the heir to Kira’s throne. Peter had killed his father, King Alexander, to cause a civil war in Romaland to enable him to take over the country.
9. Sniff of Truth - Dirk and Bart try to convince Peter that Kira is dead, but without a body, he doesn’t believe it. At the monstrous mountain, Charles hears a SNIFF and realizes that the story that Kira told was true and he had wrongly accused her of kidnapping her baby brother to win the throne.
10. Twin Trolls on the Road - James and Mark stop with a captured Kira at the Twin Trolls cave and they rescue her. This time, Kira realizes that she needs help and the three of them head back to help Henry and Alec. Back at the castle, the truth about Peter and his plot becomes evident as the queen realizes her mistake in trusting him.
11. Fly or Die - Peter takes Alec and it is a standoff at the ravine. After making a deal with him, Kira lays down her life for the prince. Double-crossed, Peter tosses the little boy into the ravine anyway and Kira must fly to save him. The trolls figure out Kira’s riddle and send arrows across the ravine, killing Peter.
12. Surrender - After returning Alec to her father, Kira learns that he is not the heir to the throne - she is. Her father also knew that she was a raptor-like her mother, and Kira planned to change the law that banishes raptors from the kingdom. The season ends with Kira knighting Henry and promising him his first quest.
