Brendan Sweeney

Brendan Sweeney is an accomplished producer and director based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in New Jersey, Brendan's passion for filmmaking was ignited at a young age as he frequented movie theaters with his father and explored the decaying streets of Belvidere on his skateboard.

After attending the Pittsburgh Filmmakers Institute, Brendan directed and produced his first short film, Kiss Me Goodbye, which garnered critical acclaim and raised $30,000 to shoot on ORWO film. The film was a finalist at the IndustryBOOST Competition and an official selection at prestigious film festivals such as the Buffalo International Film Festival, Blackbird Film Festival, and Charlotte Film Festival, showcasing Brendan's talent for storytelling and his ability to unite communities through his work.

In 2016, Brendan relocated to Los Angeles and quickly joined Hurlbut Visuals, the company founded by renowned ASC cinematographer Shane Hurlbut, ASC. Within a year, Brendan was promoted to Hurlbut's personal assistant, where he honed his skills in cinematography while collaborating with hip hop artist Alan Michael on cutting-edge music videos. Drawing inspiration from his urban skateboarding days in the 90s, Brendan brought a fresh visual perspective to his work, combining classic hip hop and dance aesthetics with innovative camera movements and creative compositions.

In 2018, Brendan joined Orange Robot, where he produced behind-the-scenes and interview content for major brands such as Sony and Apple TV, including the hit series For All Mankind. In 2019, Orange Robot produced Brendan's next project, Impossibility:Possibility, which received critical acclaim as a semi-finalist at jellyFEST and Los Angeles CineFest, and was also featured as Short Film of the Day at Shorted. Currently, Brendan is a rostered director at Matiz Creative and serves as the creative producer at Filmmakers Academy, showcasing his continued dedication and passion for storytelling and filmmaking.
