Jennifer Loren is an Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker and the Senior Director of Cherokee Film, the umbrella organization in which she runs the Cherokee Film Studios, Cherokee Film Productions, Cherokee Film Commission and Cherokee Film Institute. Jennifer spent almost 15 years of her career in television news as an evening news anchor, investigative reporter and producer.
In 2014, she began working for her tribe at Cherokee Nation Businesses and co-created the highly acclaimed docuseries Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People. Jennifer is the executive producer, host and director of the docuseries. She has been awarded 17 Emmy awards for both journalism and documentary programming.
In 2019, Jennifer helped to create and roll out the first tribal film office in the country, the Cherokee Nation Film Office, and now serves as its director. The mission of the Cherokee Nation Film Office is to increase the presence of Native Americans in every level of the film and television industries, while creating opportunities for economic development and jobs in the Cherokee Nation.
