A dysfunctional family from Ohio takes a road trip to Toronto, Canada after the mother thinks she has won a contest to meet her favorite singer Anne Murray. However, her dream of meeting her idol is threatened when her bickering family is pursued by a frazzled contest official with bad news and a horde of quirky neighbors and unstable love interests.
