About Josh

I’m Josh Allen csc, and I’m a DP of 20 years experience, hailing from Toronto. I moved down to LA at the end of 2016 to test my mettle in Hollywood. Narrative and commercial work is my mainstay, but I’ve done music videos, documentaries, and other projects as well.

Over my career I’ve shot features and short films which have played in the Toronto International film fest, Cannes, Whister, Maui, Stiges, Slamdance, and others.

I have a strong drive within me to create compelling images. My entire ethos as a DOP is all about creative collaboration and the synergy that happens between artists working together. It’s when I feel the most alive. I’m a hard worker, and coming up with solutions to creative challenges is one of my favorite parts of the job.

I'm very excited for my next feature "Stealing Pulp Fiction" to come out later this year, with long time collaborator writer/director Danny Turkiewicz, starring Jon Rudnitsky, Karan Soni, Cazzie David & Jason Alexander!
