What do you do when the guy you've been "waiting for" turns out to be the guy who took your purse?

SYNOPSIS:

LAURA SPARAGANO is a hard-working, blue collar girl in her 20s who wants to design her own line of evening gowns. Unfortunately, she gets fired from her job in the Garment District and is failing her last semester in fashion school, which she needs to pass in order to graduate. At the same time, SAL RIEZZ, a good Latino guy, also 20s, brought up in the Bronx by his medicine-woman mom MARGARITA, is also struggling to find his way to a better life. When the two literally collide in the middle of a busy New York City street at the end of a work day, so do their lives. But their lives aren’t the only ones entwined in this ensemble story: RALPH, Laura’s ex-boyfriend, comes back to New York with money and an offer of marriage; Laura’s best friend THERESA is planning her wedding and desperately needs Laura’s help; and Laura’s parents ROSIE and AL want nothing more than to see their daughter settled and secure.
