About Tom

From Pittsburgh, including a stint in a steel mill, Tom graduated from Duquesne University with a degree in Journalism.. He was also a fair hand at basketball, ultimately being on a high level par. Tom began work at WQED PBS Pittsburgh, a network production house, learning studio craft skills. Tom's first professional program was "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood." He went on to work "Previn and the Pittsburgh Symphony", "A night with Comden and Green", and won a team Emmy for "Harry S Truman: Plain Speaking. Tom was promoted to writer producer at WQED, running a national White House affiliated program on teenage drug abuse, and seminars on the constitution produced by, Fred Friendly, CBS News President and Edward R Morrow collaborator. He was also a zombie in the original "Dawn of the Dead", and. member of the comedy team "The Flying Zookeni Brothers. Tom moved to Los Angeles to write screenplays, whereupon he, like most, starved for a time. He turned back to his craft work and launched a career in film and television.production which continues to this day. Carrying on his screenwriting ambitions, Tom has created a score of stories which have done quite well in competitions such as Academy Nicholl. Tom has wife, two grown daughters. and two new kittens.
