TINY TIME MACHINE
By John E Stith

GENRE: Sci-fi
LOGLINE:

All life on Earth will die of thirst unless a couple of loners on the run can use a strange time machine to stop a secret project.

SYNOPSIS:

Meg and Josh, two early 20s eco-activist loners, meet when they are both arrested by the police for trespassing. They are forced to work together when they find Meg's dad dying. He hands Meg what looks like a cell phone and says to exercise extreme caution. It's a time machine.

The camera viewfinder on this phone shows 30 years into the future, and the shutter button opens a portal to go there. From the future, it shows our home time, and can open a portal to return. The future San Francisco is littered with bodies. Everyone on the planet is dead from dehydration. The ocean has coagulated into a near-solid mass.

Meg and Josh clash because they are both used to being on their own and getting their own way, but they start working together and Meg likes Josh more and more over time.

Meg and Josh find themselves the only ones who can avert the disaster, by working at its genesis in the present. An ocean cleanup experiment headed by a famous philanthropist is about to go wrong.

By enlisting the aid of the philanthropist's daughter, who becomes a romantic rival, Meg and Josh and the daughter travel out to a ship at sea.

There they confront the philanthropist who's been trying to do the right thing, but his project has been taken over by a deadly woman with plans of her own. Meg and Josh have to overcome the pair and stop the experiment before it can spiral out of control. And Meg has to find out if Josh feels the same way she does about him.
