About Debi

Debi King McMartin is a published author, screenwriter, and independent film producer. Her published books include STONE JUSTICE, the true story of Toni Jo Henry of Shreveport, which was produced as an independent feature film titled THE PARDON, starring Jaime King, Jason Lewis, T.J. Thyne, and Academy Award nominee John Hawkes. Ms. McMartin served as co-author for BEYOND THE CASTLE DOORS: A Soul Quest for the Holy Grail. Ms. McMartin also served as co-writer for the multiple-award winning screenplay LITTEN’S PASSION, the true story of Hans Litten, a young attorney in pre-WWII Germany, where he nearly stopped Hitler’s rise to power, thus becoming the Fuhrer’s #1 political enemy and arguably the first victim of what is now known as the Holocaust. She also produced the Accolade Award-winning documentary film titled DREAMERS AND GAMBLERS: Spirit of the Pioneer Wildcatters and the independent feature film SKOOKUM: The Hunt for Bigfoot, shot in northwest Louisiana in 2013, receiver of 20 laurels on the film festival circuit. Hold That Order won several awards on the film festival circuit; Pepper and Cinnamon has won 22 laurels on the 2021 film festival circuit. In 2022, Ms. McMartin and her film team produced the short film Second Line Groove, which has won 41 laurels to date, with three Award wins. Aftershocks has received 38 laurels on the film circuit to date.

Unique traits: As a screenwriter, I gravitate toward little-known true stories and most of my protagonists seem to be underdogs.

  • Litten’s Passion

Litten’s Passion Budget: $5M - $10M | Historical Drama After tricking Adolf Hitler into admitting on the witness stand that the Nazi party has been committing illegal, violent acts against the German nation, Hans Litten becomes Hitler’s #1 political enemy, thus beginning Hitler’s slow brutal revenge against the idealistic albeit arrogant young attorney in pre-WWII Germany. Litten, along with his fearless mother Irmgard, soon begins a courageous fight for his freedom, his country, and ultimately his life. LITTEN’S PASSION is a true historical drama in the tradition of SCHINDLER’S LIST and OPPENHEIMER, about an ordinary man who becomes extraordinary by standing his ground before an army of evil and risking all to save the soul of a nation.
