SYNOPSIS:

An escort, Jamie and her best friend Paula, wake up in a hotel room with their client from the previous night and take their payment. Now home, and Paula rests while Jamie goes out to have a few photos taken. When one of the photo's is a winner, the photographer, Jesse, starts to grow an obsession with Jamie and asks her out on a date. That night, Jamie and Paula go to a club, and become intoxicated. Paula disappears while Jamie wakes up in a hotel room. Jamie returns home but is sad to know that Paula is not there. Hoping for the best, Jamie visits a church, and her faith begins to build. A visit from her procurer, Ezekiel, and is told to meet him with their new client. At a hotel room, Nico, a businessman in art, buys Jamie's freedom from him, with no strings attached. Jamie feels relieved and thankful. The morning after, while digging through the trash, a homeless man finds a woman's body and it turns out to be Paula. Partners Gil and Jim visit Jamie. Informing her of her friend's untimely death. Gil, a more sympathetic man, other than Jim. A man with lust for power. That night, Jamie calls Gil, feeling lonesome, the two meet up in a diner. Jamie starts to regret calling him but is accompanied home, where Gil watches over her while she sleeps.

Jamie has another dream, and it has something to do with her father slashing her across the face with a kitchen knife. She wakes up to find Gil still in the apartment, having not left her from earlier. Gil learns from the crime lab that Paula was pregnant and decides not to tell Jamie. With their newfound relationship growing, Gil wants to take things to the next level, but Jamie wants to wait until their on the same level. With her hopes for them to grow as a couple, Jamie takes Gil to church. At first, he feels unsure about it but then when Jim degrades Jamie, Gil comes to her aid and nearly gets into a fight. Jamie stops the fight. Having to move out of the studio apartment that she shared with Paula, Jamie is set to move in the next day. Gil and Jim make their peace, but Jim slips a antidepressant into his coffee, causing Gil to fall asleep. In her new apartment, Jamie moves her belongings in but gets a surprise helper in Jesse. While getting help from the photographer, Jamie is seduced by Jesse, and nearly driven in by temptation until Gil shows up to break up the attraction. Later, Jamie finds a photograph in her bedroom closet and has Gil find the people it belonged to. The photo being at least a hundred years old but finds the long-lost family members traced back to it. The same day, Jamie gets a visit from her mother and makes peace with her.

At the family members home, Gil and Jamie meet Marta, a paranoid religious woman living her life secluded from society. The boy in the photo resembles her father, and when Jamie asks why there are many open bibles in the home. Marta informs them that it's a reminder to be ready. Unable to believe a word of it, Gil takes Jamie out of the house and drives her home. Not sure about what to believe or how to overcome his trauma of losing his wife and son. Gil returns to Jamie and the two of them decide to disappear. Marta reminisces about the day her father was killed when she was four years old. Jamie then decides that Marta is right about something. Jamie returns to Marta's house and tells her about Jesse. Marta informs her that he is the beast. Rather than turn her away, Marta takes her into secret hideout, known as a cave. At his apartment, Gil finds his crime lab partner dead in his bed, and dirty cops are surrounding him Injured during their intrusion, Gil escapes through his bedroom window. A not so smart Jim comes face to face with Gil behind the wheel of his car and is run over. In the cave, Jamie gets a visit from the businessman, Nico, who informs her that he is her father. Which is why she was looked at for being a half breed. Gil returns to Marta's house and is helped with his wound. Marta arms the house to blow up and takes Gil to the cave. Jesse arrives but is too late. The house blows, leaving them stuck. Now with her father and now husband stuck with her. It's known now that they aren't clear from danger, because Jesse sneaks into Jamie's mind and tries to corrupt her but she manages to overcome him.

Nine months later, Jamie gives birth to twins. When things have calmed down, the trumpet blows, and Jesse feels a war is coming. Seven years later, Jesse and his soldiers break into the cave but are burnt to ash. Defeated and gone. The plan has been fulfilled.
