With the laid-back style of New Orleans as its backdrop The Bewitching of Camille tells the heartbreaking story of a young witch who must overcome extraordinary odds to save her daughter from the warlock father who may be forced to destroy them both.
SYNOPSIS:
300 years ago witches terrorized the world. As younglings (adolescent witches), their power was limited, but as they matured it grew exponentially. Absorbing that much power so quickly was thought to be too much for any female to endure. Many believed it drove them insane and subsequently turned them evil.
Three times as powerful as any other demon or malafec, as they are more commonly known, there was no one to stop the devastation they caused. Out of desperation, The Council of Warlocks called upon the brazenly unorthodox Philippe Gerard, a powerful, albeit, eccentric warlock who ultimately formulated the plan that would change this world forever.
Philippe formed an unlikely alliance with The Vampires; Strong and powerful warriors, they are known to be deceptive and untrustworthy, but their toxic venom was certain death to both witches and warlocks.
Next, he enlisted the help of The Lycans; Erratic and unpredictable, these highly temperamental malafecs were essential for their speed and tracking ability; especially the Alphas - extremely rare lycans who, unlike betas, are born into this world, not ‘made‘. With their heightened senses, they were the only demons on the planet that could smell a witch.
The Council, reluctantly approved, but so as to not destroy their own race, they ordered that Philippe harm no younglings and with that, a secret war began. For thirty years Philippe and his newfound allies traveled around the globe ridding the world of “evil“. Younglings were spared, but isolated; never again would they see another of their kind. They were raised and educated like humans until they were old enough to impregnate. At that point they were secretly sold to the highest warlock bidder to continue to propagate the race, then discreetly destroyed before they turned twenty-one, the year in which it was believed they achieved their full power.
This became every warlock’s individual “responsibility“ and for the next 258 years, they all dutifully carried it out. Until one day, in the fall of 1995, twenty-two-year-old Julien Dumont Gerard, heir to Philippe and one of the most powerful warlocks of his generation, made the one mistake no warlock could ever afford. The one thing no warlock was allowed to do; he fell in love with his wife.
