THE PARENT CLUB - (A KAT ROLLINSON COLLABORATION)

THE PARENT CLUB - (A KAT ROLLINSON COLLABORATION)
By Naithan Hilaire

GENRE: Drama, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A weekly get-together of dysfunctional and diverse neighbours walks the line between trauma and hilarity as they explore a strangely compelling path to resolving each other's parental woes.

SYNOPSIS:

A chaotic series of events at a local street party prompts Claire Anderson to issue an open invitation to her neighbors in hopes of seeking collective resolutions to their parenting issues.

The following week, neighbors trickle into the Anderson's House, each reluctantly revisiting their reasons for joining the club.

Recalling the menacing public behavior of Claire's son, Jack Anderson, creates both laughter and tension, prompting the group to debate their disparate views on physical discipline.

Begrudging the group for ignoring his pleasantries, Dave pulls a safety alarm pin, which plunges the group into chaos and causes little Jack to shoot an air rifle, that blows out the ceiling to settle the commotion.

A dumbfounded Ilene tries to bring order to the group by suggesting some structure, and the group vote on the rules they'll be adhering to in future sessions; 2.No abuse 5. No narcotics 7. No lying.

Irish addresses concerns over the no lying rule by proposing the group consider ingesting what he calls: "nature's truth serum." The shambolic group knowingly and unknowingly votes in agreement despite Jen's reservations.

With the rules, structure, and mind-opening techniques decided, a guarded Armani nominates herself to go under the groups' scrutiny in the next session. But a snarky comment from Jesse sparks tension between the girls right before the group sets off home.

Thank you Tasha. This will help alongside the fact, my Mrs has been a teacher for 10+ years and we are even working on opening our own school, delivering our own curriculum.

It's her job to know all about learning styles, patterns of behaviour etc.
