Orshansky graduated from Minsk University of Culture and Arts (Belarus), faculty of Folk Instrument and Orchestra Conducting.
Since moving to Canada in 1998 she worked in her profession: performing on Tsimbaly within different groups, composing, playing some percussion instruments within Queen’s Own Rifles Band and Governor General's Horse Guards Band.
In April 2019 her Sunrise Samba was chosen by Queen’s Own Rifles Band for their Spring Concert.
In Canada I recorded and produced two albums with my compositions, Midnight in Toronto (single) and Original Impressions (demo CD).
Raisa Orshansky participated in many creative projects such as Russian Festival of Toronto (2013, 2014), Series Of Jewish Music (2017). In July 2021 she presented Belarusian music on virtual International Science Conference.
Her most recent performance with Viktor Kotov was in September 2021, both musicians were invited by Markham Arts Council to participate in their two Projects: Artists Unplugged and Music On The Street.
Orshansky is a member of SOCAN and a PARMA recordings artist. In February 2019 her Symphonic Poem “Spring Fantasy” was recorded in Czech Republic with Ostrava Philharmonic Orchestra.
