About Alexander

Filmmaker Alexander Karmios, half German,half Cypriot and born in Athens - Greece, got introduced to the film and fashion industry, since the age of 16, firstly by experiencing some fashion shows as a model and character role plays, in a few T.V. commercials (1997-2003). During this period, not having decided yet, what professional path to follow in life, he was bar-tending at famous Greek islands, like Mykonos and Santorini. It was then, when he first participated, as an extra, in a Hollywood scale film, that was being filmed in Mykonos, The Bourne Identity (2002). This experience got him so thrilled on the process of creating moving image, that he decided to attend a film studies class, at New York College. Alongside, practicing also still photography, brought him very soon, shooting for fashion magazines, catalogs and ad campaigns. Then along came, some album covers and portraiture photography for music artists & bands, after that, taking part as a cinematographer in a short that made it to the 61st Cannes Film Festival Flat (2008) and then, some music videos, that put him on the filmmaker's map, as a director and cinematographer. Alexander, today is working in the film industry, as a director, cinematographer and producer, available worldwide, being in development and production of several feature, music video & TV commercial projects.
