Alexandra's varied career in film, television, theatre and voiceover, spans more than forty years. She grew up in the UK but has lived on and off in the US for over thirty years. For ten years she worked as an actress in Los Angeles and now lives between London, Suffolk and The United States.
Her Hollywood credits include MR HOLLAND'S OPUS with Richard Dreyfuss, THE BIG THING with Bryan Cranston, FROM PARIS WITH LOVE with John Travolta & a tiny part in James Cameron's TITANIC on which, in part, her new documentary is based. SHIP OF DREAMS: TITANIC MOVIE DIARIES features actors from the film reading from diaries they wrote in 1996 and interviews with the film's fans who continue to keep the legacy of Titanic in their hearts. Alexandra co-hosts a podcast with Nelson Aspen. TITANIC TALK is in its second season.
In the UK she played series regular CLARISSA MASON in CORONATION STREET and several TV guest roles. She's the voice of Gov Elaine Marley in The Tales of Monkey Island. Her theatre credits range from Shakespeare to panto and too many Alan Ayckbourn plays to mention.
Alexandra's directing career began in 2011. BOXER ON THE WILDERNESS was nominated for Best Short Film at the East End Film Festival and went on to a successful festival run. It's a short film~teaser for her screenplay THE WILDERNESS.
Her debut feature WIDOW'S WALK was set and shot in her native Suffolk. The film won Best Cinematography at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York. She wrote, directed and produced the film which stars Miranda Raison, David Caves and BAFTA-winner and veteran stage and screen actress, Dame Virginia McKenna OBE.
In 2020, she co-founded, Artemisia's Daughters -a non-profit organisation that is empowering, educating and inspiring the next generation of female filmmakers. They shot their first short film in the summer of 2022. She hosts a podcast called Fierce Female Filmmakers where she talks with the women making their way in the film and TV industries.
