At the age of 18 he became a performer with a Czechoslovak circus and traveled to 64 countries of the world, astonishing everybody with his victories. He was a weightlifting champion of Czechoslovakia, a bodybuilding champion of Europe. He earned the nickname Strong Ivan Croton for his incredible strength. Ivan Firtsak won a great number of single combats with famous wrestlers of the world. From hands of the Queen of England he received a helmet and a belt decorated with cold and diamonds. A reconnaissance unit is deployed in order to obtain and transmit the information about the construction project. Additionally, a scout (a Soviet resident with a successful track record in covert operations) is lodged in the enemy's rear. His task is to insinuate himself among the Nazis. Tainstvennyy ostrov (2008)

After USSR collapsed, the research was suspended and the facility shut down. But the people, on a visit to the island, continued to vanish into thin air. Two weeks after the departure of his wife, Maksim receives a letter from her, reading: «Do not look for me! I've found my happiness...». Shocked by the news, the protagonist leaves everything behind to go searching for his wife. Having researched the village and spoken to the locals, Maksim is left shaken and stirred as he realizes that there is more to this village than meets the eye.
