A New York City native, I've been screenwriting and script consulting since college, where I also started my background in freelance film criticism for websites. I've also been a judge and script analyst for NYISA since 2018. Now as a filmmaker, I make action-dramas that tend to have familial contexts in the heart of my work, such as sins of the parent and sibling turmoil. Corruption, spy-thriller and police elements are also favorites.
I've been hired for script gigs such as adapting the novels "Private Dancer" and Tunnel Rats" by Stephen Leather, acclaimed British novelist whose 1992 book "The Chinaman" was adapted into "The Foreigner" starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan in 2017.
My biggest influences stem from the heartwarming, socially-educational Nickelodeon shows I grew up with in the 1990s, which developed my sense of integrity. The genius storytelling of game designer-writers Hideo Kojima (the Metal Gear Solid series) and John Garvin (the Syphon Filter series) are my favorites.
All sorts of influences challenge me to blend emotional and hard-hitting drama with action, imagination and a healthy payoff. I do not, however, push political agendas the likes of Marvel, Disney and other woke companies that sacrifice quality to pander to audiences who don't even watch the content they protest.
Common sense must rule among humans. Keyboards need to stay away from mutants. They won't, so, just create healthy content. Have virtue, but never virtue-signal.
