I grew up wanting to act. I made my stage debut at the age of 9 playing Macbeth in school assembly, but I’d peaked too soon and there was only one way to go from there. I realised I wasn’t your typical leading lady and that if I ever wanted a good role, I’d have to write it myself.
I started by writing comedy sketches, even trying my hand at stand up comedy (which was terrifying). This grew into sitcoms – which grew in to movies. I like to write awesome female characters and warm, funny stories.
I’ve worked as a freelance writer, writing for a diverse and eclectic bunch of industries – road tests for a motoring press agency and articles for a football magazine (despite knowing nothing about cars or football), and scriptwriting/story boarding for a range of childbirth/baby care videos. I’ve been a freelance video editor and camera operator on corporate videos, including Health and Safety videos where I was often called upon to go on camera and show off those long-forgotten acting skills; my ‘woman falling off a chair whilst attempting to remove something from a high shelf’ has been known to reduce grown men to tears and is a thing of legend in H&S circles…
