  • Zakynthos

    Zakynthos (2008)
Film (short) by Giorgos Konstantinopoulos (Documentary) Director, Cinematographer, Writer, Producer, Editor, Animation department The island of Zakynthos is situated in the frontiers of Greece and the rest of Europe and very close to Italy with witch Zakynthos had very particular relations. That transformed it's culture, traditions and customs in to a particular way (along with the other Ionian Islands). This particularity surprises the visitor who comes in the island for the first time, especially if he is a Greek one. This is exactly what has happen to me too and so I decided to depict that surprise in a short documentary in the form of video art. Written by Konstantinopoulos, Giorgos

  • O kalikantzaros, o bakalis ki o foititis

    O kalikantzaros, o bakalis ki o foititis (1974)
Film (short) by Giorgos Konstantinopoulos (Family) Director, Writer, Producer, Music department, Actor "The Goblin and the Grocer" (Danish: Nissen hos Spekhøkeren) is a fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen about a goblin who must choose between poetry or a Christmas treat from a grocer. The tale was first published November 30, 1852, and republished several times during the author's lifetime. Andrew Lang included it in The Pink Fairy Book (1897). The title is sometimes mistakenly translated into English as "The Goblin and the Huckster". Once, a student lived in an attic while a grocer lived on the first floor with a house goblin. Because the grocer gave the goblin a lump of jam and butter at Christmas, the goblin belonged to the grocer. One day, the student came to buy cheese and candles; then he discovered that his cheese was wrapped in a page from a poetry book, so he bought the book instead of the cheese, and joked that the grocer knew nothing about poetry. The goblin, offended by the joke, used magic to make everything in the room speak and they all agreed that poetry was useless. The goblin went to tell the student, but he saw a beautiful, marvelous tree of light in the student's room, the most splendid thing he had ever seen. He kept going back to watch the tree of light through the peephole, but could not stay there, for the grocer gave him jam and butter. One day when there was a fire, the goblin ran to save the poetry book, and realized that he thought the book the greatest treasure in the house. Still, he decided to divide his time between the grocer and the student, because the student has no jam. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Goblin_and_the_Grocer

  • ALTHEA

ALTHEA Comedy Drama Romance ALTHEA Dramatic idea In a small, fictional, gorgeous Island forgotten by people, somewhere in the Aegean, Althaea lives a little knit society. Not more than 200 people. They have everything but tourism. In this little paradise appears an American film crew for the filming of a movie. Our community gets upset with the arrival of foreigners. As a welcoming place that is, the top heads of the island, find accommodations for visitors, at the houses of inhabitants, since there are no hotels. The Mayor of Althea, John Rokakis, organizes an authentic traditional island feast in honor of the guests. Various erotic entanglements occur between locals and foreigners, at all ages. At the top, Nikolas, a forty years old local fisherman, with the thirty years old producer Bobbi (formerly known as an actor), as well as his little brother Meleagros, 20 years old, with the ambitious and promising starlet Elisa, a young girl, just turned 18. Also, the veteran actor John Markus, with the, more than 30 years old, dumb cousin of Nicolas, Argyro. Finally, the "intellectual" film director David "carried away" by the restless, head of the local amateur theatrical group, Erofili. The inhabitants of Althea, unaccustomed by the presence of the Americans, are upset, but also many of the Americans, profoundly affected by the unknown to them, but so real and remote from the Western culture, lifestyle in the island. Thus, the winged son of Venus, easily and effectively makes the job that has entrusted his mother: to do them all, upside down. In the beginning emotionally. Soon, however, this mess is extending to all sectors. The big overturn, occurs when this small society discovers that, the film which the Americans turn, is a porno! In fact, co-producer is the Greek-American Tom, son of the newly repatriated, Mayor of Althea, John Rokakis. The bomb that exploded brings everything upside down, both for the inhabitants and for the Americans, as on this occasion many bad things were revealed, that were considered as "good". At the end, nothing is anymore as it was before. Everything has changed.
