Katherine Mitchell was born in the south and is a Southern Belle at heart, though Southerners question her residency due to her lack of a strong southern accent.
She began her acting career in local theater, where she eventually received the opportunity to play the lead, Millie, in "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers".
She has appeared in various movies and television shows such as "Patch Adams", “Brian Banks”, “Nashville”, “Sun Records”, local Indie features "The Conversion" and played the lead role of Amy in "Homecoming". Katherine has also appeared in several regional commercials for companies such as Regent's Bank, Texana Bank and La Paloma Rehabilitation Center.
Katherine was inspired to write a comedy short entitled "Who's the Dude?", for which she played the lead role of Karen. Her film appeared in the Memphis Independent Film Festival in 2010. Since this production, she has been enjoying working behind the scenes.
She spent most of her career working as an insurance claims adjuster as well as an insurance fraud investigator.
Katherine is happily engaged to Jon Lanier and they have a 14 year old son. In her spare time, she loves hiking, canoeing and she is a fabulous cook and has been known to cook for her cast during productions.
