Laura Van Vleet has written for numerous magazines such as Metro and Arts Around Boston. She was also a staff writer for Cinescape and Sci-Fi Channel Magazine, now known as SyFy Channel, where she interviewed celebrities such as Kate Mulgrew, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and most notably, Martin Landau. Additionally, she is the author of "Playing With The Big Boys: A Woman’s Guide to Poker", which was so well received Barnes & Noble did a second printing.
As an experienced screenwriter for film and television, Laura sold two stories to Star Trek: Voyager (uncredited) with writing partner, Gregory Norris. Both were subsequently placed on an A-list to pitch to Voyager executives and writers such as Jeri Taylor, Bryan Fuller, and personal favorite, Carl Sagan's son, Nick Sagan. Laura also pitched to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Enterprise, Andromeda and many other Sci-Fi series. Additionally, she has pitched to Showtime, Syfy Channel, a Canadian/Hollywood production company, Space Opera Society and local independent production companies. Laura brings years of experience, knowledge and skills to any creative production. Her quiet observations, insights, vision and wisdom motivate any writer's den.
