About Monica

Monica Quinn is a charismatic and upbeat stage and screen actress born in Philadelphia. From a military family, she left the snow for the sun and relocated to San Diego. Growing up at S.C.P.A., a performing arts school like "Fame," she expanded her acting skills to include becoming a singer, voiceover artist, producer, and a champion for arts education. Monica founded Chrysalis Pictures Productions and The Moving Parts Film Festival based in Los Angeles. As a SAG-AFTRA/ AEA performer, some of her clients include Sony PlayStation, Fox Entertainment, Beats by Dre, Boost Mobile, Vital Farms, San Diego Rep, and the Virginia Stage Company.

Some of her Film/TV credits are The Wild, The Child, and The Miracle (Cannes Film Festival), Magic '85 (AFI), My Brother Wes (New York Film Academy), Three and a Half Thoughts (Winner Harlem Film Festival), SYNC (Winner iPhone Film Fest, Olleh International, Oxford iFest). Monica has also appeared in Dirty Laundry (pilot) as a series regular and 30 is Still 30 as a recurring guest star.

As a member of The Actors Gang Theatre Company, she performed under the direction of acclaimed Academy award-winning actor Tim Robbins. She appeared in the world tour of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" directed by Tim Robbins, the national tour of "The Exonerated" directed by Cynthia Ettinger (The Silence of the Lambs, (HBO) Carnival, and Deadwood (HBO). Monica has also performed regionally in professional theaters across the nation and toured internationally with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and theater festivals in China, France, Spain, Romania, Brazil, and Italy.

Monica has a B.A in Musical Theater from UCLA, as well as a Certification in Professional On-Camera Acting from UCLA. In addition to performing, Monica has a heart for arts education and nonprofit work. She received a Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management from Walden University. As a teaching artist, Monica coaches inmates with The Prison Project at The California Institution of Men, The California Institution of Women, and The California Rehabilitation Center. Through Theatre 360 and Drama Maniacs, she has also had the pleasure of teaching her artistry to children. Furthermore, she cultivates affirmative transformation with incarcerated youth at Camp Scott, encourages children who have left Juvenile Hall by working in continuation high schools, and has joined forces with The Youth Policy Institute to incorporate History and Spanish in Immersion Programs with Culver City and La Conte Middle School.

My Brother Wes (2016)
Film (Short and Drama) Actress Wes (10), has always looked up to his older brother Dre (13) and has always wanted to be included in his older brother's group of friends. As a playful prank to try and deter his younger brother from bad influences, Dre tries to coerce Wes into stealing some sodas and snacks at the local bodega, not unlike a scene in one of their video games, thinking that Wes will be too scared to accept. Without fully understanding the possible consequences, Dre ups the ante by convincing Wes to use a toy gun to hold up the store owner. Wes, not wanting to look like a little kid, doesn't give in and soon both boys find themselves at the bodega. They enter the store as their nerves start to get unhinged. Things turn terribly wrong and the simple prank turns deadly when the bodega owner accidentally shoots and kills Wes thinking that the toy gun was real.
