I was the publicist and manager for the late PF Sloan, an iconic American singer songwriter, who wrote the song, Eve of Destruction. An ominous, apocalyptic and catchy song that prophesized the anti-war protests and civil rights movement percolating in the United States in the mid-Sixties. ‘Eve of Destruction’ created a powerful backlash, banned by some radio stations, yet it remained in the top 20 in the US for two months. It was credited with boosting momentum for passage of the 26th Amendment. Signed into law in 1971, the measure lowered the voting age from 21 to 18. P.F. Sloan's 'Eve of Destruction' was an anthem for a generation.
I am now working with the PF Sloan Estate as producer to produce a film based on the life of Sloan and the song, Eve of Destruction.
