About Theresa

Theresa was born in a slum in Kolkata and given up for adoption to Mother Teresa at nine weeks old. A Trinidadian Indian woman and her English husband adopted her and she came to London aged nine months. Little did she know that decades later she would return to Hatibagan to search for her birth family, when the BBC featured her story for their documentary 'Searching For Mum', or that her journey would be the inspiration for her first feature film.
Theresa began acting, singing and dance aged five and found her passion for performing, always confident and enthusiastic. In later years she graduated from the internationally acclaimed drama school, 'Guildford School of Acting' with a BA Hons degree in Acting. Having worked in dozens of stage productions such as ' A Streetcar Named Desire', 'Old Times', 'A Doll's House' and 'The Seagull' to name a few, Theresa's passion is for screen acting and she has won roles in hit shows such as Avenue 5, Bridgerton, Eastenders, Motherland, Doctors and P.R.U, Law & Order and many more. Her most recent work is in Scoop' which drops on Netflix in spring 2024, Directed by Philip Martin and starring Keeley Hawes, Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson, about the Prince Andrew/ Epstein scandal.
In September 2023, after crowdfunding for two months, Theresa shot her own short film - 'The Stranger I Love' which she wrote during lockdown, as well as writing the script, Theresa also produced it and played the lead role. The film is based on her own experience of parental alienation and being torn unjustifiably from her son. The film aims to raise much needed awareness of this GLOBAL social issue affecting millions of families in every country across the world, and also to start discussions in the media and within governments so that the coercive control of children is criminalised. The Stranger I Love is currently in post production and will be released onto the film festival circuit in Spring 2024. It is Theresa's dream that the story will peak the interest of a studio and developed into a feature film or episodic series.
Theresa's current project for 2024/25 is writing her first feature film, about an adopted British Indian woman who leaves London and her comfortable life to go back to the slum she was born in and search for her birth family. As she enters the unknown, accompanied by a journalist friend, she discovers shocking truths that force her to question everything she believed was true about her biological family.
Theresa is first and foremost an Actor, but she has fallen head over heels with writing stories that move people and raise awareness of social issues.

Unique traits: Doggedly determined. Positive in the face of adversity. Goes above and beyond for any project I am attached to. Highly moralistic.
