Adrienne McLaughlin

I've been involved with music from a very young age. I began singing at the age of 5 and have been a part of NYSSMA and NYSSMA Majors, as well as All Country and All District. My composition started junior year of high school, and I have graduated Hofstra University in May of 2017 with a BS in Music Theory/Composition with a concentration in Composition.
I have produced an hour long recital featuring a majority of my compositions, and composed for the short film Music Speaks Louder Than Words.
My composition style is strongest in contemporary elements, such as modal mixture and color chords. I have experience in both choral and instrumental conducting and composing. I've written pieces inspired by the works of Debussy and the poerty of Edgar Allen Poe. I have an affinity for darker, haunting music. I'm looking to add more films to my portfolio and experiment with new styles of music in movies.
